HI I have very nice car with only 9500km in it. The ecvt has gone crazy tho. Works pretty good when accel and higway crusing. but when its time to stop the fun beginns at around 20-40km/h(slowing down no gas) it down shifts so hard you can hear the tires sometimes . (similar to put a manual car i 1st gear and release fast with no gas at that speeds) Anyone got a clue?? Also ive seen u talkin about brushes? where are those located and what do they do?? Thank you.

Could be the brake pedal position sensors not adjusted properly, or possibly a false speed signal to the ECVT computer (there are set-in-stone clutch action and "gear" ratio contol parameters and I think vehicle speed signal would be the most troublesome if inaccurate)
As for the brushes, remove starter. you'll see a plate with I belive 2 or 3 wires coming through it. Remove the plate and on the other side are the clutch slip-ring contact brushes. These send a voltage determined by the ECVT computer to control electromagnetic clutch engagement. This would be the first thing to look at, The cost anywhere from 80-120 $ USD. Very simple to replace (All you need is a 12mm or 14mm wrench and a phillips head screwdriver as far as I remember)

Hard "downshift" is commonly indicative of a cracked clutch drum; common failure point, as I recall... Mine had same problem; clutch drum was fractued at bottom -

Slight language problem!! Is a cracked clutch drum a cracked or split primary or secondary pulley or is it something else?
Thanks
