Just got a mint 1989 Justy and love it! It’s got some blue smoke coming out when I start. I’ve ordered a new PCV Valve and a few other things (that I could order). I need a few more things though. Where is the best place to find parts nowadays?
I need to get some better engine mounts. I am going to replace most of the gaskets (putting red RTV on them) to help with the oil leakage issue. I’m going to replace the head gasket. I think, to help with the blue smoke, I might search for piston rings to replace too. I’m getting a new gas filter. I have ordered a new CV Axle (passenger front). I’ll change the spark plugs out. I might have to get a new clutch at some point too.
Stoked to get this thing working to it’s fullest! Any other recommends?

Your blue smoke could be worn/cracked valve stem seals also....pretty common with 80s Porsche motors. Its easier than rings but you'd still to pull the heads to do it

Initially, I wanted to introduce myself here. Nice place. Concerning your blue smoke, as a Daihatsu owner, I'm aware that Justys and Daihatsu Sirions were manufactured on the same assembly lines. Blue smoke is Daihatsu typical, when maintenance wasn't regularly performed. The rings tend to freeze, after engine oil si left in too long. The small holes drilled into the pistons are at fault. Certain Audi engines have suffered similar problems. But, this was due more to design faults of which machining the piston grooves for accomodating larger rings and drilling larger holes in the pistons was necessary. The most consequential method of freeing up the rings from carbon is to remove the pistons and then free these bits from debris. Some have claimed that solvents of which are added to the oil will remove these deposits. This solvent is, however, highly toxic and isn't inexpensive
