Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and was driving to school today when I noticed a squirting sound as i depressed the accelerator. I looked down where I heard it, only to notice a spill of liquid on my foot which was on the gas pedal. I assumed it was fuel being right ontop of the accelerator but I was late so couldn't check anything. It has also been staring very bad in the mornings (sounding like it's misfiring) I think because it's cold as it goes away when it gets a little heat but it's not really that cold where I live. It is a '93 FWD manual carburettor model. We have replaced the ignition leads and spark plugs within the past 2 years. Had a look around in the footwell and in front of the firewall but can't see anything so far. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Are you certain it's gasoline? The smell of it would be quite strong and there should be no doubt.

It is possible, the fuel lines run inside the car above where the pedal is. I would look for where 3 steel fuel lines come out through the fire wall and go up to the carb, it is more likely that it is leaking at the rubber connection to the carb and following the lines down to your pedal area.
