So the serpentine belt in my justy screeches on start-up. The positive side of the battery is corroding which suggests overcharging. After starting it idles at about 2000 then tapers off. Also if the lights are on the idle dips, sometimes killing it. I had the alterator tested and it's fine but the engine almost died from the test.
The only lead I have is maybe it's the voltage regulator?
Any advice is appreciated.

This forum appears to be kinda dead(unless you need your info months later lol)
The inital high idle that tapers off is okay, most cars do that to jump up oil pressure and get hot faster. The lights stalling the engine is less okay though. There should be a load high idle mechanism that bumps the idle up a bit when there is high power draw, such as the cooling fans or headlights. Unfortuneately ive no idea why that would stop working. Perhaps a vacuume leak?
