Hi all,
I just bought an '88 FWD Justy and I would like to turn it into a 4X4, is there anyone on here that has done that and would it be difficult?
Thanks

I know you wouldn't like to hear that, but it's much easier to sell RWD and buy 4WD. There is really a lot of work and a lot of components to change. If you don't have a donor car it is nearly impossible.

Thank you,
I thought that would be a fun way to fix up my barn find, but if it isn't meant to be then I'm not too torn up about it.

do if your determined tho, reading here it's a 11 hours of swapping parts from a parts car but it's do able if said parts car is not worth saving. My mind, I'd look for both on the classifieds, a parts car or a better justy, which ever beats the effort or the cash you have.

Which Subaru models would make good donor cars, aside from a comparable year Justy? The Chilton manual covers an awful lot of models and years.

Justies only have 2 models, 1st gen up to 88 and second gen. the only diff is whether they were FWD or 4wd and Carb or EFI or any combo of those. oh yah and 2 or 4 door....
