I put in some HIDs for my 89 subaru justy and i cant tell you enough how much i love them. I installed them about a year ago and everytime i get into my car at night i still giggle at the fact my headlights are brighter then most newer cars. It gives you a nice feeling to be in an older model type car with nice head lights. It only took about 20 mins to out mine in but i had to do a little sanding and had to put my ballast in a good spot. besides that the simplest thing yet.
this should be a link to my twitter with a picture of my justy

How is the light dispersion? I'm guessing you dont have a projector and its just the HID's in the stock housing. Have you gotten anybody flashing their lights at your for having too bright of headlights? Im seriously considering doing this as its night alot in the winters of alaska and good visibility is needed. I already swapped out the stock lower turn signals for two 6 inch LED fog light bars and moved the turn signals to the outer daytime running light housings on the fenders. I recommend that.

I dont have a picture with the fogs on but they are wired into the parking light switch on the steering column.

People do tend to flash there lights at me because mine are to bright. Or when im driving and most of the time down hill i can light up the insides of there cars and you can see them adjusting there mirrors to deflect the light somewhere else, so there bright for sure. I do feel like a dick but i kinda injoy that... i know it sounds bad but its funny to be a little car with bright lights. yeah no projectors just the stock mounts. those led lights are honestly really neat, will be doing that in my near future.

I'm wanting to do a similar thing, I've got the HID's and Projectors. But i'm waiting to find a spare set of '89+ headlights so I can do a proper HID conversion with projectors, Mainly want a spare set of headlights to do this on since I have to make new clear lenses. I love the idea of HID's they sure are bright! But I can't stand them in reflector headlights they just blind other drivers and you end up missing out on potentially more light on the road since the reflectors weren't designed for the hid bulbs. Good idea on the upgrade though, hid's and led fogs would be great!
