Hey! I have a Subaru Justy/Trendy ECVT that currently has no engine. When I bought the car for many years ago (10), the engine was in bad condition, it had, among other things, a gear without teeth on the balancer shaft, etc. Bought a "new" engine, but now when I was going to change the engine, it was in even worse condition. Now I'm trying to figure out which piston that is number 3, as it apparently is different, according to the service manual. I did of course write on the pistons how they were located, but the pen was apparently not permanent. It was in short my life with a Subaru Justy, my experience is that it is a great challenge to renovate a Justy and that I should have thought of this before I did the rust repair and paint.

I have never heard of the #3 piston being different. What work was done to the engine?

It has been difficult to find all the parts for the engine. First, I found, and I ordered rod bearing from a Swedish company, I had to wait a month on the parts, but they were very cheap. One had holes, the other kind did not have holes, according to a friend the holes is not required, as the oil pressure will be lower with holes. The next problem was the main bearings, a company in Germany could deliver, but delivery time was 8 weeks. As for the chain, there is no one for sale in Europe, but I found a chain from B & C Express Ltd on 90 links and a chain lock, apparently the chain that is used in the Subaru Justy, is DID 05T. But when it comes to chain guide, the situation is more complex and unresolved. I have made one with a kind of plastic adhesive used for chassis parts for new cars, but I'm thinking that a new grinding surface with tin shuld be better, in any case, I intend to try.
