New to the forum - picked up a 1991 2dr. 4wd 5speed and just got it back from the shop. Ed Trueblood in WA has been supplying me with some much needed replacement used parts and Higgins Automotive in Salisbury, NC redid the lower end. So after 7 months I am finally driving the sewing machine. Just need to get rid of the fart sounding muffler that the PO put on it ARGH.
Anyway I know this is beating a dead horse but in summary can someone recommend the cheapest seller of new shocks(struts) and springs? RockAuto points me to their EU supply so shipping kills the price point. I have called all the major autoparts places and crickets is what I get in response.
Any help would be much appreciated. Once I have my used set of the car and can follow the forum members' recommendation for zirc fittings and motorcycle oil.

Hi Sorry I can't help much other than suggest Subaru. Where did Rock Auto point you in Europe as we have a few EU members here, myself included...

Rockauto when you tried to check on availability was saying "outlying warehouses" which meant Europe. I ended up getting 4 struts, 2 front springs and delivery from AutoDoc (in Germany) for around 370 delivered. There were KYB struts and Sachs front springs. I could not find the rear springs from then as they were out of stock.
Amazon was running some type of special on the front KYB strut mounts for about $8-9 a piece. So I bought 4 DAH...being a new justy owner did not even think to make sure that the front and rears are different. The price sucked me in. So now I have 2 extra BN front KYB strut bushings.
I think I found AutoDoc through Ebay.uk.co. Some of the parts seem a little easier to find across the pond.

Do you have a link to AutoDoc on Ebay or The Web? I searched the autodoc.co.uk website and it said they weren't available.

I broke a drivers front spring ('88 4WD). Indeed RockAuto wanted ~$115 each w/shipping !! Knowing I needed 2, I went shopping. Measured OD, length & wire diameter. McMaster Carr had them for ~$25 each + shipping, but as bare steel. Had a bud powder coat them, still working fine after 3000+ miles.

You can get custom springs made here if you want to stiffen and lower your ride www.springcoil.co.uk/springs/suspension-springs/ They have a lowering kit in their part-made stock that will lower the car by 30mm and the spring rate is up-rated by 10 – 15% from standard for £144.95 . However I did not get round to confirming all technical details inc. year and model of Justy, but I they will also make bespoke springs at £50 each + vat. cheers, Ewan
