I dont know where to post this so here we are.
My shift knob is sticky, Ive cleaned it and it seems worse. I think the rubber is just breaking down, crap.
I thought about tape but here in North Carolina I can expect temperatures in the summer high enough to melt tape and then I have sticky again.
Anybody here on the boards have a better idea?

New knob (that sounds bad.. ) Similar situ with my old Volvo with a push button OD on the shifter... Tried tape, epoxy paint, and more tape. Spent more on fixes then the wreck yard shift knob.

The shift knob I put in my forester was pretty sticky and gross. I took it apart and scrubbed it with degreaser. It is no longer sticky and looks much better.

Hey man, where in NC are you? That's crazy, you might be close by.
you might be able to take the shifter off and give it a rough sanding, and spray it with bed liner. I've thought about doing it.
