I'm sure many have heard of a mini-me build in the Honda scene. I've been looking at a similar concept but to join a performance driven 3 cylinder head with the Justy block from none other than Triumph. The ones I'm looking at came available in 955cc and 1050cc. I have my hands on a Triumph "955i" head and playing with I idea of what it might take to make this combination work. The head studs are 1mm-3mm offset, the cylinders are 1mm larger and 1mm wider separation between each cylinder. I don't have access to a machine shop and all kinds of expensive tools to make a build come to life like many of the guys found on here. But I have a concept that needs to be proofed. I bought an end mill bit to slot the head stud holes to see if I break into the coolant passages. If I do I believe it's possible to sleeve these holes to resolve any leakage. The important things I still need to think about is how to drive the dohc with us chain driven and provide lubricant and drainage to the head. Just wondering if anyone out there has ever thought about anything similar.

The BMW head you speak of.. He's actually on about the Triumph Speed Triple head... (ooooh baby) farm4.static.flickr.com/3226/2757278835_1a0dba6bf6.jpgChwseng, Not to say I wouldn't LUV to see that done, but the Little Justy head is not TOOOOO bad...(I'm a pretty green engine "builder", but speaking from the experienced folks who have helped me in my quest for 3 cylinder supremacy... ) it should in theory handle a decent amount of compression (nice big squench pad) and has reasonable valve area. Of course no dual cams for playing with timing, but the rocker design isn't that bad to allow for a bigger bump stick. As for doing your swap, to my knowledge, no-one has posted on here such a feat. It is of course certainly doable, and your measurements sound like it would line up "okay". Swapping to a timing chain shouldn't be that big of a deal, there's lots of room there. Yes, your biggest issue is the oiling of the beast... look to increase oil pump capacity in some way, there are various routes from mild to silly. But if you want to spin faster and harder, you really need to address this, or there will be rod bits on the roadway Matt

If I remember correct someone on the boards has posted tthe specs of a "hot" cam for the original head.
Unfortunately those are my only two cent on the matter...
Edit: oh and by the way what a sexy little DOHC head that is!
