When I turn the key on before I start it, all the dummy lights come on except the oil light. I checked the bulb and it's good. Just wondering if that's normal or not. The engine was just rebuilt so I'd like to be able to keep an eye on it. It's an 89.

It should be on with the dummy lights, until the engine is running and the oil pressure is greater than the minimum for the sensor (Around 3 psi)
The sensor is likely bad or not hooked up. If you ground the wire leading in to the sensor, (Single wire near the oil filter) The light should come on.

Thanks, I don't have any power to the sensor, so I'm thinking there is a broken wire. I'm probably just going to replace it with a gage as soon as I can locate the right fitting.
