Also started on an attempt to make some sort of "spoiler" to cover up this nasty gap

Got the basic shape cut out from the foam. Next I have to do a LOT of body filler and sanding:/

why do you have that gap to begin with?

As you can see, this car came originally with a rear spoiler that covered the gap between the hatch and the taller roof. According to the last owner, it was already gone when he got the car, so it`s hard to say why it is missing. Maybe it fell of, or maybe some evil justy-hating individual wanted to sabotage the car by giving it less downforce? =P

I thought the factory spoiler was just bolted to the standard hatch. can you post a picture of the rear of the car where you can see all of it?

In Europe it seems there were 2 versions of the first Gen Justy, the low roof one like we got in North America in 87 and 88 and the High roof version which still used a low roof tailgate with a band aid spoiler attached.

Yes, maybe the scandinavians were to tall for the normal roof or something? I would fit under the lower roof though, standing 170cm "tall". Anyways, it seems impossible to track down a replacement spoiler for the car, so I'll have to try to make my own:/

I think the tall roof was really just to increase height in the back seat primarily, it does little for the front occupants. I also think it lead the way for the change in the roof line for the 2nd gen cars; which, IMO really hurt the look of the car. A subtle change, but enough to loose the "slab side" of the gen 1. There is a Gen 1, low roofline spoiler, I thought I had a pic, the best I can do is to see it here. Drool

Drool It is hard to see but the Bonneville Justy illegally used a JDM front and rear spoiler as well as a 1 liter non North American engine to fit into the less than 1-Liter class it holds the record for. www.rs25.com/forums/f135/172278-just-us-justys-d-official-justy-owners-club-3.html

There is just 3 more centimeters... That is blueprint from original (I think) German catalog: It was made of soft foam with something like rubber coat on top... It hold rain water very good every time I open trunk it slowly drains I'm thinking about make some more sporty looking one (because everybody loves down force ) made of foam like you and fiber glass...

There's literally NOTHING on that Super-Justy.. Yeah I tried finding more info too. Not a damn thing. Although, what's interesting, if you look at the spec sheets mato posted. The 2 door high roof also says super justy.
