Not a Sci-Fi these days! People all over the world start using 3D printers to repair and upgrade cars. It could be useful to print new parts to replace some broken ones, especially if you have older cars because there is almost no new parts on the market... We have some Fabbster printers in school. It can print things from ABS, but I do not have find something easy to print for Justy... They gonna make some heat resistant material too (some 200°C). So you can print things for engine too like carburetor spacer (I have ready 3D model) and much more... Does someone try to print some part for Justy? Or do someone have any idea what to print? Cheers!

if you want something that's somewhat decent you may have to go with nylon, or polyethylene. not sure what other gas/heat resistant filaments there are.

Few bad things happen... I have fix some of them (Printer got some problem, I have lost model of that window holding part...). Printer is working again, so I can start learning best way how to print on it. But I must draw new model of that part again... I think I will have real prototype in few weeks. And I get another idea! Lot of people missing it in Justys... Yes a cup holder! But I don't find some good place for it jet... Do someone got some tip?

Great Work!
Have you or has anyone tried 3d Max or any other tool to develop a 3d model of the justy? As far as I know, there are no complete blue prints sets (front+back+side+top) for justy gen II on internet. For Gen 1, there's a possibility to build a proper blue print, taking the schematics. For Gen 2, there's no top view, so it's hard to build. Also the back view has the hatch open position.
Has anyone tried it? Would be fun...

I FINALLY draw and print the window clip! I have missed to draw one or two important mechanical things... But while printing something weird happens... The model should look like that... I think It is caused by too high speed or printing, what is adjustable in process so I have lower it to 90% and seems it helps... And you can see it takes some 1 and 1/2 hour... The result looks really bad :/ The black thing on the left is first attempt that goes more bad... (so I decided to stop printing...) But It can be tested in car... Important things I found out are: The computer says it needs material for less than 1€. Print time is 1.5 hours. It needs more work on the model. Next version will be less sharp.

I now have my own new 3D printer! This one uses more universal type of print material (standard rounded 3mm filament) so now I can print not just ABS. There is PLA (looks nicer than ABS), aluminim filled PLA (I don't know what is it good for), transparent matrerials, materials that change color with temperature, glow in dark materials, and maybe the most interesting flexible material (I am going to try print rear swaybar bushings to see if it can be used like that) and even more... I am planing more mods for Justy like 7-segment display with number of gear I have shifed, etc...

Today I finally get the dimensions of rear sway bar bushings. So now I'm printing some. And hopefully I will put them in car tomorrow.

That is awesome Mato393 that 3d printing is killer. Great idea making those quarter glass plastic things I will be in the market for some soon.
Hey you should make right hand side view mirrors for the first gen justy! I would buy one for the right price.

it will be interesting to hear how the abs sway bar bushings hold up. Keep us updated! It's not ABS it is some flexible material. Seems to be a little harder than rubber. It melts at a bit lower temperatures (ABS 220°C and flex 190°C) and there can be danger of melting when it will be close to exhaust. People also call it Flexible PLA (normal PLA have lower print temperatures, stars melt at I think under 180°C). When I knock two parts printed with this flex material it sounds more like knocking some normal plastic things... I'm a bit worry about what it will do at temperatures under 0°C... But this is why I'm testing it on rear sway bar... I also have the antenna cover broken...

So I have the bushings in car now. I made just 1km with them... But I have few potholes in front of my garage and I had a better feel from rear when I leave the garage, but I think I just suggest it to myself... Maybe it really have feelable difference because the old bushings were worn out. Anyway here is better second generation of switch holder: And just a little bit of topic, Pistol spray holder: (I will test it on the rim behind it) I haven't tested it properly but first try work better than what I was hoping for.
