Hi Folks, Just picked up a 91 Justy 2wd and am trying to get it in decent shape for my daughter by Thanksgiving. From research here, I've already taken care of a few minor things and a really weird noise from the engine bay (hose was off an air pipe in the back). The clutch works fine as far as the shifting of gears and engaging/dis-engaging engine, but HOLY cow it's like pushing an old 1930's tractor clutch in! Have read about bad cables, and when I looked at mine and unhooked it, it's a little slow to move through the housing, but my main question is should it be long enough that it has a LOOP in it near the firewall? MAybe someone used a different cable in this? Thought maybe that was some of the issue since it's not a straight run to the tranny, but has a loop in it to use up length and then to trans. Going to reorder one, I think just in case and hopefully it isn't a problem with the pressure plate.
I appreciate any insight. Thanks

most ables are in the 37-41 inch range for this car. and thoe have a loop. however i recently encountered a problem from HAVING the loop and kinda took the loop outta mine.
as for cable lube, go get some dupont teflon spray or the dry lube. they sell it at LOWES for 6.99 and like 7.99 respectively i think. i thought i had a really stiff clutch and one day i lubed the cable with this stuff, the pedal almost falls to the floor under the weight of my foot alone. so much easier on my knee know.
