Driving home I went over a pothole and heard a noise I wasn't used to hearing. It seemed to have come from behind the dash of my 88 4wd justy. I noticed my stereo had shut off and immediately started back up again, but the car was running differently as well. died at the next stop light, and the light after that. RPMs wouldn't stay up and idle. I also noticed that even after starting her back up, the radio never came back on, like it wasn't getting power. Also, the usual *ding ding* of the seatbelt no longer came on while cycling through. Made it home with some fancy footwork but have no clue what the issue is. Recorded a video: videobam.com/qXkEQ and I'd love the help.

Lst see it starts and runs but runs poorly. Check your timing belt to make sure it did not jump. Next check your cap rotors battery mount and ground.

Timing belt looked ok, and cap connection was fine. I did some poking around and may have found a bad connection to my fuses. Here's the video: youtu.be/n67fjk1Kna8

Found a solution. Bad connection to the "STOP ROOM" fuse. I don't know what it's purpose is, but it has something to do with the stereo power, seatbelt chime, and idle because all three issues were resolved after I modified the connection.
I'd love to know what it's official purpose is though, my SM doesn't have any explanation.

i think thats the ECU backup fuse. dont quote me on that.
it operates the brake lights, cabin interior light and some other little things but i swear it was an ECU backup light

Does anyone have a fuse diagram? or can you elaborate on how you fixed it? Because my 88 carb justy does the same thing. No power to the radio, no seat belt dinger and awful idle. I'd like to get some tunage!

Not sure if I would recommend it but i reached behind the fuses and started gently wiggling groups of wires. After a few minutes I had it narrowed down to a few fuses, then with a little more patience, I found that the wire connecting to the harness where the fuse plugs in was loose. disconnect battery before getting too in depth with a screwdriver or anything!
