Hi all!
As we all know, the Justy engines suffer from oil pressure problems due to a cheap designed oil pump, with the shaft and
shaft hole wearing out, causing low pressure, leading to wear on rod bearings.
A couple of mods exist to cope with this, though. Among them is a bronze bushing in the shaft hole. Another is a tap going
through the pump cover to support the inner rotor from wobbling.
However...
As a side-step from my Justy, I'm working on getting an old Ferguson TEA20 tractor going again.
Stumbled upon the oil pump being very similar to that of ours, just much deeper.
If you look here at page 23, rune.sahlberg.se/Service_manual_TE20_run_thrue_destill.pdf
and this picture: i45.photobucket.com/albums/f93/dieseltroll/Ferguson/IMG_0109.jpg
Now to my question; would it be possible to make sort of an extension to the oil pump housing
on our Justys to accommodate this larger, higher-capacity pump parts, with some modifications to
the shaft of course?
Of course, some work needs to be done to make the bigger rotors fit.
I feel this may be worth some research, and perhaps, a prototype build.
