I have a 1988 Subaru Justy 4WD. i was driving and the transmission worked good drove it all day. I stoped and put it in gear and nothing happened. i shift through all the gears and the car wont move. there was no sound no grinding nothing happened.
i need help i dont know what to look at, anybody have any similar problems?

I think something falls of from shifter...

The rubber fulcrum piece of your shifter linkage may have broken. Check the linkage for missing fasteners as well.

when putting in gear the speedometer speed goes up but the car is not moving but the speedometer works like the car is moving

That sounds like a stripped front hub.. Try putting it in 4wd and seeing if it will move.

its not the hubs because the cv axles are not spinning there is no movement from transmission. there are no sounds of the transmission moving there are no sounds of grinding or anything

I'm not sure how it would happen by your description of events but it must be a problem with the final drive (front differential)
Does it not move in 4wd?

It could also be a stripped axle spline at the transmission, if the roll pin falls out this can happen. You will have to jack up the car to check for this.

i found the problem and fixed it. what happened is that the axle poped out from the transmission because there was no pin there. its all fixed now and its running all good now.
