I have crushed one door switch when i am doing paint job and seems second one is bad too... There is cheap universal solution by Hella You need to make only little changes on wiring: Cut both wires from original switch. You need only red wire now (New switch is grounded on mounting bolt) so black can have covered end. It is not a bad idea to soil there some extra 5cm extend for red wire (Not done on this one I made, it fits but original lenght is almost too short). You need to place new connector on the end of extended red wire and cover it with isolating tape. It is gonna look like this: I do not replaced sedcond one jet because it is very rainy now... Hella door switch part number: 6ZF 005 388-001 If you have some question/s just ask me

I have a 1994 Justy and I had a bad switch too. I thought of doing the same thing too, but my car came with automatic seat belts. The ground wire that you left disconnected was tied into a seat belt module located on the right front kick panel under the dash. Your door ajar light is also tied into it. The way you have it wired up, it should work. I took my interior light apart to see how it was powered, and how it was grounded. The bulb has power to it all the time. When in the interior light mode it is grounded by contact with a mounting screw. In the center position it has no ground. In the door position it is grounded by the door switch, but not at the door jam. I ended up buying two for my car. My part number for my Justy was 783331150 and it was under $10 at the dealer. I found this door jam switch at a local O'Reilly for $6.00. Looks like you will have to modify the mounting hole to make it fit, but it does have two connectors so you can mount both wires. I am not sure if that is available to you. Let us know if you can get yours to work.
