I posted this thread in the the engine issues section but this section seems to get more traffic and I have also seen other engine troubleshooting question threads here as well so here's mine...
Anyway my Justy starts and idles fine but when you're driving and you need to slow down or come to a stop, it dies when you have the clutch pushed in and the rpms drop. The first time it happened I didn't even know it had died because it died just as soon as the engine rpms slowed down, then I realized all my dash lights were on just as if I had the key turned to the on position right before starting it. As I am trying to diagnose the problem I have been trying to replicate it and it seems that if I feather the gas when I'm coming to a stop with the clutch pushed in I can keep it from dying. This is hard to do as I have the clutch pushed in with one foot and the other on the brake to slow down. The following are things I have recently done to the car as a tune up... it had been sitting for awhile so I drained old oil, drained old fuel, drained old antifreeze, replaced all these fluids, got a new battery, new plugs (couldn't get new wires without ordering), new cap and rotor, and recently installed a mechanical oil pressure gauge.
As I have been reading on other threads, I am feeling like I should look at the fuel filter, fuel pump, maybe get some good fuel injector cleaner, O2 sensor? I really don't know much else I could look at other than these things. My dad is questioning the fuel pressure regulator but he hasn't had a chance to look at the car, only listen to me tell him what its doing. I'm hoping someone on here has resolved a similar issue with one of the remedies above or can give me other advice on what to try.
