The waterpump i got was wrong. farcle ME ! Twice, after I reinstalled the engine I had to take the pump cover of trying to figure out why the system wasn't bleeding properly. No heat in the heater.. When I installed it, I compared the two, and they both looked identical. Gasket for the lid was different. I started the car, no cirulation.. Opened the cover, saw that the screw for the pump was loose, so I thought I had forgot to tighten it properly. New sealent on, tightened the screws and popp, there I cracked the ¤"#¤"#¤"!#¤§#%"&"%&/¤ing lid for the waterpump... Ok, Liquid metal, new sealent, back on, tighten the bolts in a circle. Started the car, same result.. So WHAT THE ¤%"#¤! NOW. Off with the lid again, oh... impeller screw loose again, with metal filings.. So I was lost, took a look at the stock one, held the new one against it.. No wonder the damned thing didn't work.. No wonder the lid cracked.... I effectively locked the impeller when I put the lid on it... New on the left, old on the right:

That's a weep hole. Usually means your seal is faulty or your front cover may be cracked.
The seals are easy to mess up when you install them because they are ceramic.
Check the seal, if it looks good you may have cracked your front cover when you put the wrong pump in it.

My front cover IS cracked, because of that faulty pump, I don't think the seals are broken though.. The leak stopped after I threaded a M8 hole and put a screw in with a little sealant.

You didn't plug the weep hole did you?
Don't do that, it's there for a reason. You run the risk of that coolant going into your crank case and causing even bigger problems.

Ok, new engine ordered, 1993 12 EF Injection with 105 607 km on the clock. Engine, manifold, starter, alternator, inlet, engine management and the harness for the EFI part. and the left drive axle. Maybe I need to ask for the engine mounts as well ? It is one of these engines BTW: 80 bhp would help nicely compared to the 54 I have today......

You'll need the fuel pump, the filter, possibly the tank and maybe the lines, I heard they're bigger for efi.
The mounts should be the same, but it wouldn't hurt to have them.
Also, that axle won't fit into your gen 1 hub.

I have a few electric fuel pumps laying around, like a large Bosch one from a 2 liter Opel/Vauxhal engine, I'll will just fit that electric fuel pump myself, possibly right next to the stock fuel filter near the tank, I've got some universal mounts. I'll run it of a independent switch. There are two filters in my fuel system, one down at the tank, and one in the engine bay. Basically, I'll replace the stock @ the tank with a large one I have laying around. I'll just remove the one in the engine bay. The axle won't fit ? Darn it, I've gotten 4 ! different NEW universal joints, and NONE of them fit... I guess I need an axle of a >88?

The filter I had in mind is overkill deluxe it has 14mm AN connectors heh....... But thanx for the advice... As for the axle, I guess I'll have to think about it, Anyone know where they sell complete new gen 1 axels ?

So no EFI engine for me, at least for now, It turns out that the shipper put the pallet carrying my engine & harness on a pallet jack, and forgot to: 1. secure the pallet, 2. lower the pallet jack..
So going up a hill, my engine, the pallet, and the pallet jack smashed its way through the rear door of the truck....
The seller said he had a carbureted 1.2, but I don't know, Is it worth it ? Is there a MAJOR difference between the 1.0 and the 1.2 ? Btw, the carb engine is 1989 with very low milage.

I would go for the carb as you will get a bigger engine with out the conversion to EFI problems. (Not redoing everything in the car!) The 1.2 should be a torquer engine and you just might be able to get better fuel consumption rates if you make use of the torque and drive in the lower rpms range all of the time.
