hey it me again and as the title says im looking for insight on how to hook up my extra 89 justy alt to a deep cycle batt for an audio system (not replacing but adding)
how i want to do this is to mount the extra alt some where on the belt
A. any ideas
B. will the engine handle spinning the extra alt
C. need a diagram on how the orig. alt wires in to the system so i can start on the right foot (general knowledge what hooks where and does what)
ive seen this done before(the guy who filled his justy w\ one giant spker) he had a dual deep cycles with an alt but i never got around to asking how it was done

You're just going to have to build a bracket to add another alt and get a longer belt. Pretty basic with a welder, grinder, and drill press. Just have to attach the bracket to the engine and not the engine compartment. B. The engine can spin another little alt., but it will probably effect your gas mileage. How much? Who knows. C. I would make a dedicated circuit that is separate from the Justy harness if you are using this to charge aux. batteries. A three wire system is just supply wire, field sensor wire, and charge indicator lamp wire. It's super simple and there is a ton of info on the web.

Also deep cycle are not designed to be charged constantly, they're actually meant for the opposite.

you might want to look into a high amp alt that muscle car guys use since out mounting system is really basic, rather than a second alt
