So, i drive a 93 2wd 5spd. I was making my way up and hill a couple weeks back, in fourth light ticked to shift so i put my foot to the clutch when all of a sudden my "check engine light" flashed and the justy died. now there is 0 spark to the engine. my justy guy said distributor b/c there was a dab of oil in the distributor. my brother argues it being an ignition control module. ive not done a distributor, so some tips or maybe a differnt answer to my issue would be helpful. i looked for a distributor replacement guide on this site and found none. i might have to buy the book finaly.. ty for input guys

Hey. Spank the troublecodes out of that ECU. Guide: www.troublecodes.net/Subaru/The dizzy is notorious for starting to leak oil, messing with the ignition and then dripping down into the bellhousing (=burned clutch). The oil seal is very hard, if possible at all, to come by, and I would imagine it to be a PITA to change it. Best off cleaning the dizzy from time to time. Changing the dizzy itself is very much straight forward. Remove the old one, install the new one, preferably with new rotor, cap and wires. Set/check ignition, go to town. //Magnus.
