Hello,
I am looking into purchasing a 92 4wd Justy and I there is an issue that I would like some insight on before I make the purchase.
When the car is running the headlights will not turn on or off. The lights are constantly running and one light is brighter than the other. All of the brake lights work normally when applied, and I could not tell if the dash lights were working due to it being daylight. All of the blinkers and hazards work normally. The instrument stick in the cabin is rather loose and the control switch favors the left turn signal. What could be the issue?

There are two choices, on and off, what do you mean they wont do neither?

The lights will not shut off. I pulled out the relays and they will turn off at that point.

Just the headlights or the parking lights or both. If it is just the parking lights, there is what we call the virgin switch on subarus. It should be on top of the steering column. It turns on only the parking lights when the car is off.

Thank you nipper, but its not the parking lights that stay on its the actual headlights.

Problem solved...
I changed out the two relays and that seemed to have solved the problem.

Just the headlights or the parking lights or both. If it is just the parking lights, there is what we call the virgin switch on subarus. It should be on top of the steering column. It turns on only the parking lights when the car is off. For the past two months I've been removing the fuse to turn off my parking lights until I read this. I thought I had some issue with the switch and have no memory of ever touching that "virgin switch" on the steering column. I was just getting ready to post the question about it when I did one last search. Pretty funny, doh!
