forgive me my bad english, but i am from holland. i hope you'll understand me. i have a justy ecvt from 1994, and the ecvt tranny is doing something weird. when i drive 20 or 40 or 60 and even 80 and 100 km per hour the rpm is 3000. when i press the pedal slightly it rolls sligthly to the speed i want and the rpm is and stays 3000. when i push the pedal to the ground it makes 5000 rpm en runs really fast to the 140 or 150 km per hour and the rpm is and stays 5000. what could be the problem that the rpm is always 3000 from 20 to 100 km per hour. the temerature is normal when i move, only when i stop the engine the temp rising and the blower is activated. i believe that the transmission fluid/oil is very hot. who has an answer, i am out of solutions. thnx anyway

That sounds like regular ECVT function. The advantage to the ECVT transmissions is the gears are variable, meaning the engine can be held at an ideal RPM while the transmission moves the gear ratios to facilitate the different speeds. Terry

yes, i know de how the ecvt works, but in a other topic they told us that the rpm by 80 km/hour is 2400 rpm continu. but this transmission keeps the rpm at 3000 dispite the speed. i belief that there is a so called " lock up" in the transmission to keep the rpm at his lowest to save fuel and to keep the temperature of the transmissionfluid low.

problem solved. it seems that the cabel for the ecvt was wrongly connected with the gas-cabel. the signal for the ecvt was disrupted and it was slipping continue. now i gave him the right signal and the transmission is working as before. 2400 rpm at 80 km/h.
