The timing belt went on my amphibious justy. i see a mark on the cam and im assuming it lines up to the point on the top of the timing cover...the crank mark is on the pully but im not sure to where it should point..im guessing straight up?

So today i got out the timing light and it seems the belt needs to be adjusted along with the distributor. I know how to do the belt but what do i have to do so its not so retarded?

Before you go dialing the timing around, did you check the idle timing as per your emissions card/tag? Could you provide some details about your specific vehicle. MPEFI or Carb, Gen1 or Gen2? I can't recall if I have greeted you yet, so welcome to this forum -RRJ --update-- after reading through you posting history, I still have to ask if you have an MPEFI configuration, or a carburetor?

Why thanks i am pretty new to justys.
I have a carburetor. 89 head with a 90 or 91 lower end from a fuel injected motor.
I will try to post some pictures here in a few days.
