RJ, this is great. I think this is important enough for a sticky. I'll keep this at the top for awhile.

Wow! That's really good timing. My Justy is still in the shop for carburator issues. If it can't be reasonably fixed this would be a great option to fall back on. From one former Iowan to another, thanks RacerJames!

My justy won't hold an idle. After checking for the usual vacum leaks (it has good throttle response) I am just going to replace it then rebuild it. I am getting lazy in my old age.

So has anyone purchases from these guys yet? seems pricey on the shipping but doesn't seem like there is any other reasonable options out there for OEM carburetors with Lifetime warranty.

I just got a carb from them last month. They have no Justy carbs in stock so you have to send them yours. the tuirn around was a week, which shocked me, as I expected 3 weeks.
They will give you a report on what was wrong with the carb.
The carb isnt completly set up to just plug and play, but I did not expect it to be. They have really good communications and tell them you saw them on this board.

I seriously doubt carbs for our cars go through a live engine test. Actually I wonder about that, what it exactly means.

they probably have a generic 4cyl that uses a hitachi 2bbl carb. these things arent exactly uncommon. i would bet thats how they bench test em and thus arent dialed in very well when they come back

I just talked to National Carb and they don't do a live engine test. Also, they do need you to send them yours. Eddy also suggested a number of things to check related to electrical grounding issues before buying a new carb. This is getting complicated!

Usually a flow test can be done on the bench. The bolt the carb to a machine that draws air and check the fuel (using a calibrated fluid which is actually more flamable then gasoline, go figure) flow.
I got a rebuild from them which through my own dumb luck i clogged up. At least it should be easy to take apart and clean out the jets.
I am happy with them. Took a while to figure out I had to remove most the brackets to easily get to the carb bolts.

Nipper--
So---that's how you do it! Remove the brackets. I did my 4 mounting nuts in only two hour, but I didn't remove the brackets. Wish I had known about that. I think I spent an hour on the last nut, making a variety of "nut-holders" out of wire, bamboo, tape, etc. Turning the nut half a flat at a time. I learned some new words too! !!###55333$$&*$%FFFTFFFwtf!

Henry If you search around through seattlejusty's posts i am sure that you can find the best way to remove a carb. he told me on the phone the other day the best way to do it. it includes a stubby 10 mm open wrench ( that you cut down really short) to help with that back nut. i know that there are lots of ways to do it and i think that you did the best one!

I can remove the carb in 20 minutes. I made a special wrench. The 10mm special wrench must be a 12 point.
If somebody can show me how to attach a JPEG image, I will send photos.

Okay, So I tried to upload the photos of the tools I used to remove my Justy carb in minutes. I made the T-handle wrench, as I offer them for sale for another application but you can easily make your own. The length is important, and it must be a 12 point. The same with the stubby wrench, you should be able to buy this wrench at Sears? I didnt remove any brackets, etc. Be sure to seal up the carb base / gasket combination or you will have a coolant leak at the carb base. I still couldnt get the images loaded, but here is a link to photobucket. s938.photobucket.com/albums/ad229/Watcon/Justy%20Carburetor/ Thanks.... Attachments:
