I think it is an early 80's Austin-Rover mini Metro hatchback, the windows on the side are bigger than the justy. Funny ad though

Was thinking this or LeCar haha. Nice call holland. The LeCar was the AMC-Renault american variant of the Renault 5, so great guess!

He would have been better off with this version. 300+ hp mid-engined RWD FTW

Another truly unique car like our Justy but for different reasons. It is the only car of which I can think that is front wheel drive with a long-mounted engine but with the transmission ahead of the engine! Wait. . . is the Saab 900 that way too? Well at any rate I think the Renault at least gets it all behind the front axle line so there ya go, unique!

Yeah, super cool car (almost as cool as a Gen I 4wd justy!). Pretty bombproof, and very tough, still lots around and a friend has a beautiful black R5 (nicer then the Le Car) with the canvas roof The Turbo 2 (crazy blue thing above) had the same drivetrain configuration moved to the back, engine behind the tranny. Actually the original renault rally car was the Alpine A110, absolutely gorgeous lines, seen here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpine_A110 SJ, while the Saab is longitudinal, it differs by mounting the gearbox under the engine, it is driven by a chain running from the clutch output at the "front" of the motor, down to/through the gearbox and then to a diff mounted at the "back". So the engine and gear-box sit in front of the drive axles, the clutch is right up by the rad and the alternator is up against the firewall. Awesome engineering, pain in the #$%% to change the alternator (you have to either hammer the firewall to pull a bolt or drop the front motor mount to tilt the motor forward!) I had one, and I could never understand how with all that weight hanging up front, it still managed to handle as well as it did! Matt

justy can do better then this! i pulled a 700+kg trailer with a 200kg arctic cat snowmobile with mine. not good for the clutch i know. the trailer was 50cm wider on each side and much longer than the justy, looked verry wierd. but fun
