how do you know it is sucking the transfluid into the combustion chamber? the transmission should not have a way to do that. I would believe you are burning oil, and leaking trans fluid, but could you explain more of you problem please.

So your saying the new trans fliud ran out when it was running in place, are you noticing a puddle? or anything? Really bud there is no way its going into your cumbustion chamber. I am assuming you are using the thick gear oil that is called for for the tranny. also where is the car smoking from?

No, i am not noticing a puddle. There was no fluid in it when i got it and it pops out of gear and has chewed 2nd gear. I am using thick gear oil. It is smoking from the exaust. And yes it leaks some around the linkage, sorry.[glow=red,2,300]TEXT[/glow]

there is no possible way for the trany oil to get close to the engine...its 2 seperate parts... you mite be burning engine oil or coolant. if you dont see oil leeking from the trany it mite be becose you did not but enough...those litle tranny (the 4wd one at least) take'S alot of oil to feel up. like 3 or 4 paints maybe more...i dont remember to well but wen we did it we were very suprised and we ad to go buy more....and we use motul$$$ check if you dont see some coolant in your engine oil...if the oil is kind a grey...or some funky color..that mite be it..or if it taste sweet...in that case its a seal that let go somewere in the engine ? depending on witch one it is... if the engine is only burning oil...its going to be a piston ring job...or a valve seal job....kind of easy to do if you know how or if you like to do mecanic...but very expensiv if you bring it to the garage.. if by any case your engine is truly bruning trany oil...i want to know how ;D good luck ! if you have any question....i did blown and rebuild alot of those engine...

Just a thought - could the tranny somehow be leaking onto a hot exhaust?..
I'm imagining drips onto near-manifold exhaust pipe/catlytic/etc... that would burn (smells like burning tranny fluid) and never create a puddle.
It's unlikely, and looking at my 4wd tranny I don't see how it could drip where I'm talking... but maybe you've got a different layout. If so, that's a major tranny leak and some serious smoke; but at least you'd know where the problem is!
Maybe (and now I'm getting really out there) your tranny and exhaust got smashed together if the car got "high-centered" at some point. The tranny could then leak INTO the exhaust and come out the tailpipe! Really now, that's crazy. ;D
