there does that look better ? Andy Ahhrgh, Stop it Andy!, I can't figure out if that's a backwards head E-12 or what?! Whatever quick mods you did, this setup looks much more the part! stacks nope cant cope with it that way round, need to put the steering back on the proper side ;D did a bit more tonight, l remade the transmission tunnel this time a bit wider so as l could mount the rad behind the engine if l choose to, but l am undecided on that one might fit it behind the seats yet Andy

looking like fun! hard to imagine that someone can build something like that in their own garage but guess it´s lack of talent from my side... the dogs seem talented too, so they live in the right place, teach them a bit and when they´re two years old they´ll probably manage to build a dog offroader my dog sandy sends her best wishes too. looked at the exhaust manifold because my exhaust pipe dead. looks like it will steal a lot of power mainly because it seems like someone didn´t plan it out too good, a common mistake on older cars. my pipe is 2" with 2 simons mufflers. sounds ok and not too noisy. the torque starts lower at approx. 3000 revs and you really can feel the difference, the engine didn´t die although my friend was riding with me. he weighs 150 kg (300lbs) or something like that. now i´m waiting what kind of difference the manifold will do. really nice build and keep up the good work!

Hi. I just found this forum and this thread. This is something awesome. I have the same Justy myself and also started working on it and transforming it in to buggy. My engine is like new and everything is working just fine. Now that I have seen your ideas it just made my life easier. I do have a little different design in my mind but the technical part of copying base of the car is great. I am from Croatia and I would like to say HI to all of you Subaru Justy fans. I'll be watching this thread and maybe start my on on my progress. I have been driving it like it is for now and I also have this movie if you would like to see it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=yO89nno2Mdk

Great job on your buggy. I am interested in putting a justy engine/trans into a 1970 subaru 360. Could you tell me or email me the outside dimensions and mounting points of the justy power plant. I figure the justy 50 hp is going to make my 360 a real power house considering it only has 25 now. An auto cad 2000 drawing would be great, pdf would be good, general dimensions of the outer limits would be quite helpful. Your doing a great job so far, bet it will be a lot of fun when finished.

I don't think this project will ever be finished. We haven't heard a peep out of this guy in two years. Too bad because he was making pretty good progress for awhile. Another Justy chopped up for nothing? I've seen it before.

Hey SJ,
Remember the state of the car in the beginning... rotted out! And the guys in the UK. Every weld has to be inspected in a rebuild, and pretty much match the original ie, spot welds where there were spot welds etc etc.. There's no way anybody but a mad man would have rebuilt those rotted rockers in the UK. They were worse then my rally car when I started.
But yeah I agree likely this project got the moth balls! Too bad there's a few buck in steel there!

I agree with the weight problem and having the seats farther back but what ever you do try to go low with the center of balance. as short as you are and then making it taller with the high ground clearance suggests to me that she might be a little flip prone. If you could lower the battery to till the bottom of the battery box was right at the axle clearance and the fuel tank the same way you would gain little rollover protection. I am sad some times that I am poor and seeing that ride you are building makes me wish I was more successful!!

Another Justy chopped up for nothing? I've seen it before. well hello boys, sorry for the small delay we moved premises and the buggy got pushed into storage, and a few thousand other things followed it in meaning it is at the back lol, however l will be dragging it out soon enough as all the dust has now settled, as for chopping up a justy for nothing it was well rusty and with our ever tightening rules on what we can drive on the road over here there was no hope of it going back on the road, it was destined for the crusher at least its heart lives on l will start posting up when it gets back in the workshop Andy
