the impeller had a teflon sealing ring on the end it seals beteen the impeller and the weep hole on the front of the block then there is another seal to seal the balance shaft. so im hopeing if i put a lage bolt to cover both holes and fill the weep hole with jb weld or epoxy it will seal the coolant from the oil side of the engine. i hope

Am I the only one that sees a problem with removing the balance shaft. There is a bulletin on Dustys site that addresses this. A must read for anyone considering this mod. Nope Maynard, you're not alone. All engine configurations (in respect to cylinder positioning & firing order) are significant in some way. The Justy's EF12 has an inherent problem with vibrations of the first and second order (I am learning more about the other vibrations now) and needs the balance shaft to survive. It is known in the four cylinder world that 2.0 liters is the safe limit for a smooth running 4-banger if no balance shaft is incorporated in the design. Increases beyond 2.0 liters yields a rougher and rougher running engine at idle unless there is a balance shaft or in some cases, two balance shafts! Three cylinder car engines are almost never more than 1.0 liter for similar reasons. Without the balance shaft present, I believe the EF12 would break the crankshaft in two. Famed engine designer Aurelio Lampredi once made a prototype 2-cylinder engine that displaced 2.5 liters! It shook so violently that is busted its crankshaft. I would be interested to see how long it lasts.....on someone elses engine

So why do you only have 1 bolt per wheel again?

Just read through your build stuff on here. You've got one pretty sweet justy. You've beaten me to everything I wanted to do to mine right down to the hood scoop! Nice work man.
