I guess your crankcase ventilation isn't too harmful to the environment after all then. I already knew that! It's certainly less harmful then spraying a can of paint outside. Jeremy

Here in California, even if your car runs cleaner than it did when new with aftermarket parts, it still must pass the "visual" inspection and have all factory fitted smog equipment in place.

Hi jeremydde
Any chance you would share your megasquirt map? I understand each engine is different it would just give me a starting point
Regards Squirt, did you use the sensors off the MPFI apart from the throttle position sensor

My car has been running full sequential for a long time now. I still have the basic running map with injector 1 batch firing for all three, but the throttle response was horrible until I upgraded. I highly recommend the following additions to your megasquirt: www.jbperf.com/quad_ign_inj/index.htmlThis 3cyl engine running basic trigger & batch injection drove well above 1500rpm, but would accelerate horribly below 1500rpm. This probably has something to do with the really long intake manifold runners on this mpfi head. The acceleration enrichment wasn't quick enough to compensate, no matter how sensitive it was programmed. Most often you would try to balance the clutch at a stop light and the engine would stall as soon as you touched the throttle, or run really lean for a second until the accel enrich kicked in (then it would be really rich for a moment). My current map running sequential injection accelerates properly in all rpm/load points and even passed emissions testing with my turbo installed. I am running the following sensors: BMW TPS Sensor (Part number is listed in this thread somewhere) Mazda MX6/626 Turbo 326cc injectors GM Intake Air Temp (threaded into nut welded into charge pipe) On-board Megasquirt map sensor (Currently Map Daddy 4bar w/barometric correction. I bought it for the baro not for ridiculous boost levels) Coolant sensor is still factory justy as well as the fan switch & dash temp gauge. Jeremy

The HEI mod shouldn't be needed. I also forgot to mention that you need this board as well www.jbperf.com/dual_VR/index.htmlThis allows for dual tach inputs that are necessary to run sequential injection. You need to add a 36-1 trigger wheel to your cart instead of the HEI mod kit. My factory coil is wired for direct coil control and hasn't had an issue for over a year now. I believe I ordered the 6 3/4" wheel and it mounts flat to the fuel injected crank pulley nicely. The carb crank pulley is different. My car has been running well for the past year on the road. I have never dynoed it so no exact horsepower figures. Jeremy

Cool, well the HEI was only there as it came as one of there made up kits and it was easier than trying to get all the items in the cart individually.
The trigger wheel is not a problem we have been messing with the Mega jolts for a while now, I have amended my order with DIY and i will order the extra.
Modded order 1x Carb to EFI DIYer Kit Package #1 (modded see below) Includes the following: •(1) MS230-K MegaSquirt-II PCBv3.0 Kit (Black Case please) •(1) MK-HEI Mod kit for HEI ignition control (Not needed could you remove from order) •(1) MSStim22-K MegaSquirt Stimulator version 2.2 Kit •(1) MSRelay-K MegaSquirt relay board kit •(1) MSRelayCable 4' cable for connecting MegaSquirt to relay board •(1) LG-WireBund 12' Wire Bundle •(1) CLTIATwPiggy Coolant temperature sensor •(1) IATwPiggy Intake air temperature sensor •(1) 38NPTBung_A Aluminum IAT sensor fitting •(1) TuneCable6 Tuning Cable for MegaSquirt EMS •(1) USB-2920 USB Adapter needed for most laptops •(1) decal161 Snazzy DIYAutoTune.com decal •(1) T-LeadBend Lead bending tool •(1) Free T-shirt, if you remember to tell us the size you want in your order comments (XL Please)

I will get the Ignition/Injection board from the company you have recommended, i am not sure if you have seen what i am doing, but when it comes to the turbo conversion yours is the build that has inspired me to move forward with forced induction.
Any chance you could pop me a copy of your map/s to darren@preciouswashers.co.uk, i am getting everything prepared. By the time the Squirt gets here i should have most of my build done

I just browsed through this thread and am eager to see some videos of this beast in action. Is this a possibility? I still haven't purchased a video camera yet! All I can do is film with my cell phone, which works "ok" at best. It's definately on my todo list, although I'm due at aircare again this month, so I have to get that done when I get home from this work shift. Jeremy

that is some might fine fabrication! on your manifold, did you have to trim either of the 90's or the "t" or were they spaced perfectly?

that is some might fine fabrication! on your manifold, did you have to trim either of the 90's or the "t" or were they spaced perfectly? I had to trim the t-joint on both sides by about an 1/8-1/4". It has been awhile since I did that, so I can't remember for sure anymore. Also, on a positive note, the Justy has passed Aircare again, and can continue driving in this province for another year. Now, if I could only keep it from leaking water in through the rust holes...
