Local car for sale:
"Will not drive right now.
There is something wrong with the transmission. I am not a mechanic, so I don't know what is wrong. It drove perfectly until a week ago. Now when you push the gas pedal the engine revs but the car doesn't move. It might need a new transmission or it might need a screw turned. It will most likely need to be towed.
It has an automatic transmission. 1.3L engine. The miles are unknown, because the previous owner said the dash was replaced. She said it had 165,000 miles but I can't guarantee that."
That's all they wrote about it.

If it is 4wd, put it into 4wd and see if it moves. If it does, then it is probably a stripped hub.

It's 2WD, sadly.
What's the tranny pump shaft? Is that the part name, because I can't find one listed? How much$$, how hard to fix?
I'm resisting starting a Justy farm...they just keep popping up for sale for cheap!

I'm resisting starting a Justy farm...they just keep popping up for sale for cheap! The pump shaft connects to the engine crankshaft and goes all the way through the transmissions input shaft. At that point it slips into the pump which happens to be on the very outside end of the tranny right next to the frame rail. The only way I know of to replace the shaft is to separate the tranny from the engine. This usually requires pulling the engine and tranny as a unit, although I have heard of others pulling just the tranny out from underneath on the 2wd models without much trouble.

you can just drop the LH side of the engine and slide the tranny out gettinh the shaft out is a diffrent matter its usaly seized in the flex plate pritty good. a good pair of vice grips and a prybar will usaly get it free. i think the shaft is a bout $20-30 make sure u get a new c clip i dont think it will come with one and use anti seze when u install it

It's probably something simple like your clutch cable needs adjustment in the bell housing thats connected to the throttle cable. Goto DustysJustys.com and download the ECVT manual in PDF format. It has tons of simple checks you or a trusted mechanic can do w/ a screw driver and some metric wrenches. If the cable below the throttle cable has slack in it, it needs adjusting. These cables are right next to the EFI, they are the only 2 cables running parallel down the center of the engine. Hope this helps. It helped mine when Subaru gave up after several thousand dollars. I got back the money after several complaints to the state automotive board. Let us know if anything worked.
