I receive lots of comments on my car's paint and about how it shines, so I have decided to tell all of you how you can get your justy or non-justy vehicle to look its best and be protected from the elements.
Here is the top of my Justy after doing only 7 of these steps: (remember this is the original 1994 paintjob and the picture was taken in November of 2003)
I have put this in easy to follow steps. Also note that all of this does not have to be done at once, you can spread the work out over a couple of days if you want to.
Step 1: Wash the car with dawn liquid dish soap(or you can go to the local car wash and wash it there).
Step 2: Use Meguiar's quick clay system(or equivelent) on the paint.
Step 3: Wash the car with dawn liquid dish soap(or you can go to the local car wash and wash it there). This will get the claybar residue off the car.
Step 4: Use 3M imperial hand glaze on the car then buff it off.
Step 5: Wash the car with dawn liquid dish soap(or you can go to the local car wash and wash it there). This will get any leftover hand glaze off.
Step 6: Use Meguiar's Quik detailer on the entire car(this comes with the quik clay system or you can buy it seperatly).
Step 7: Use Meguiar's gold class liquid car wax(don't use the cheaper kind of wax as they will scratch your paint) on the car.
Step 8(optional): Use armor all on all of the black plastic parts of your car(bumpers, ect.). Then use your choice of tire shine gel(I highly recommend Meguiar's endurance tire shine).
That's it. After you do these 8 steps, your car will look 200 times better and will be protected against oxydation, rust, and paint fade.
But you must remember one thing: After you do this, you should only wash your car with specialized car wash soap(I highly recommend Meguiar's gold class car wash). If you wash your car with dish soap or wash it at the car wash, your wax will be stripped off and your hard work will be wasted. This is true nomatter what kind of wax you use because other soaps are too harsh for car wax. Besides, specialized car wash soap makes your car look better anyway.
