I have had mine up to 80 so far, that seemed fast enough on blown tie rods and ball joints, lol. And that was just to keep with traffic to get it home on it's maiden voyage, lol.

Reading this thread makes me feel unadventurous, the fastest I have ever gone in my car is 120km/h. (Mind you our fastest highway that I go on regularly here is 90km/h, and it is fairly well monitored). I had a lot of pedal left, not sure what the top speed would be tho.

My '88 will do 100mph fairly easily...maybe more, but I blew a tire @ 90mph so i'm scared to do over 80 now.

on a mile straight i reached about 90 mph but that was before i replaced anything (25yr old parts flying by at 90mph as they jump ship saying good luck reaching 90 with out me! As the rack starts wobbling and the carb starts to sputter)

I've had the 89 CVT at 80 mph and hold it comfortably, untill i had to deal with hill, or pass something.
Same as Hippy, i am nervous of taking a rare jewel of a car over 80 even though i have been over it with a fine tooth comb. Impressivly i still get 36 mpg even on that run.

I've had the 89 CVT at 80 mph and hold it comfortably, until i had to deal with hill, or pass something. 80 MPH: I had 3 different ECVT cars that all had the same top speed of 80 MPH. I think or shall I say I suspect that there is a speed governing program built into the ECM for the cars with the ECVT set at this speed! Weird that the standard trans car would go up to 100 MPH? Especially when you consider that in a drag race for 1000 feet the ECVT will beat the Standard trans car, then lose when the speed thing rears it head!

My 1985 Justy KAD 1 J10 4x4 with a 10EF engine, allegedly 54 bhp and 80nm. 770 kg.
It does an hones GPS speed of 110 kph on a straight with little effort. Absolute max I've managed is 130 something kph after a downhill run up...
It does 50 kph in first gear at about 7500 rpm, and about 100 kph in 2nd at similar rpms.. Go to third and there is almost NO go... fourth... well not much happening there either... in fifth however... nothing happens... It can maintain 70/80 kph on most roads. But other than that 5'th is useless...

So, did a quick test, 120 kph 117 kph roughly 74 mph on the GPS dash cam with a little run up.... Judging by the engine noise I was doing 200 + kph... www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qZ5VWu13s0&feature=youtu.beTwo attempts, if you skip to about 2:50 I'm starting the absolute max speed.

Once I did push the limits of the EF10: 1st gear: 50kph 7k 2nd gear: 90kph 7k 3rd gear: 120kph 7k Couldn't do more coz the road ended but it felt awesome. All I know is that if I had the guts, I should've done 160 with 2 more gears Those were the days when I had put a clutch/pressure plate set and optimized timing on petrol. Now it's timed for CNG so ECONO mode only These pix are taken while driving on CNG so not much, but just an idea on the RPM/Speed ratio. I haven't done any compression tests. At 125kph At 130kph

My EFI will easily do 100mph on the flat. I backed off at 107mph once and that was with 4 people in the car going slightly downhill. It's not all about top speed though

I'm embarrassed to say the fastest I've been in mine is 78mph. It will go faster, but I don't want to hurt the little motor. when I'm on the highway for hours, I keep it under 65mph and keep the mpg's way up
