The hood paint looks good.
Really though, I suspect you are getting very little effect from the hood scoop. You could however, make it very effective with some minor modifications.
As has been mentioned, the massive high pressure area built under the hood (in the engine bay) by the air being forced in from the high pressure area at the front of the car, through the rad ducting, will likely push air out through your hood scoop in the current configuration. This is due to the fact above hood area is actually in low pressure area as air flow is being bent (like the top of a wing) and racing as it tries to travel across the hood. There is a corresponding high pressure area directly in front of the windshield where the air get jammed up against it, but my guess is your scoop is too far forward to be in this zone.
The old Scooby rally cars made the early scoop work by venting the hood in front. The current ones work by directing the high pressure air out below the engine through ducting work (peek inside a WRC car, but not your local toy rally cars, as this so often gets overlooked!!!)
So you could do some quasi wind tunnel testing with some string on the hood and driving… record results of what is happening. Or be sure that you are actually getting some effect by sectioning off the air intake/hood scoop with a plate that seals (doesn’t have to be perfect) that area off when you close the hood.

yeah so far the current set up works well but will make adjustments to it. You might not belive me, up from the stock air box there was def a "seat of the pants increase" Yeah they dont run top mount IC they run a v mont system now ( the reason for the large duct in the front to let the heat out or vent to other places to let the heat out)

I like the idea of the fade on the fenders. One thing I did on a RC truck body back in the day (checkers not plaid) was to have the squares peeling away, and it transitioned very well into the rest of my paint.
If you're having trouble thinking of how to fade it out, just keep it in mind.

I think it's cute, you have a Mac Tools tach, but a big Snap-On sticker... GREAT car! Keep it rubber side down and between the ditches...
