Well I haven't done anything in really a while now. The biggest reason is probably that I'm trying to get my primary car (volvo 240 turbo) out of the garage and I'm almost there.
And then this Trendy is really just a pain in the ass ATM. One really bad CV joint, and you can only get other used ones for over price, engine is running bad etc...
Since I have now another Trendy where there's almost no problems, except for missing half a driveshaft and some rust, I'm thinking of getting that one driveable. When it comes to this one I'm seriously thinking of throwing the engine and drivetrain away and installing something else (that you can get cheap parts and so). I could always put the turbo stuff on the other Trendy.
Well that's alot of text, but there won't be any soon...

I found it on ebay.co.uk. I don't think I'm gonna finish the build on this car, as the engine and drivetrain is in such bad condition, but I'm thinking of puting it on my other Trendy instead.
As for this car I'm thinking about installing a FWD engine and front suspension/drivetrain in the back, making it a mid engine car ^^

what kind of fuel pressure do you need for that carburetor with a turbo?

Thom... looks like you are on the fence again about resurrecting the car vs selling, eh? To run true school blow through turbo apps like this, an adjustable fuel pressure regulator is definitely vital. The Malpassi brand is a good route on this. Lotus used these on a couple of apps... When I dig up more specific links (don't hold your breath too long?), I'll report back... ,

its terrible man, i walk outside and see my car and i just wanna get rid of it but then i see people with there turbo setup and it just looks like way too much fun.
does the regulator need to be 2 way or 4 way? i found a couple for not to much but i don't know what psi range i need. the one i was looking at had 3 - 12 psi adjustable. i also found a 1.4l renault turbo walbro fuel pump. Would this also work?

Time for a little update right? I have decided that my Trendy will have a turbo installed until the white shit comes, and it could be soon. So, I bought some stuff for the fuel system. A electric universal fuel pump that's rated at ~0,45bar which should be perfect as the carb runs at ~0,3. Then some fuel line for a thicker return line and some hoses. Just got the fuel return line exchanged and installed my pressure regulator, but didn't have time for the pump (easy anyway). I also changed the right front wheel bearing and it was a success. Sadly the right rear side makes some whierd noise now. It always have to be something eh? :/ Found a perfect place for the intercooler!

Changed the puel pump and just when I thought it should go fast and easy it didn't. The metal plate for the pump was pretty much all made of rust now so I made another one quickly. Unfortunatly I forgot about the stainless steel plates I've got, so Iäm gonna make a better one later Then it seems like the standard wiring to the pump was too weak, because it never started, so I installed a new one from the battery with a relay working on the standard cabke. New pump looks almost identical Ready for mounting Found a better place for the boost gauge

I have decided that now is a good time to install the turbo. I got the carb and turbo in place and most of the pressure pipes are done. I'm waiting for one of the "special" parts for the rest of the pipes which comes on tuesday. Adapter plate in place This was the result after the first day, you get the idea of where the intercooler will go. Tomorrow I'm gonna fix the oil hoses to the turbo, mounts for choke/gas wire and intercooler etc.

Intercooler in place now The hood lock plate had to be cut up pretty much to make the manifold and cooler to fit and it needs to be strengthen pretty badly. I have ordered e couple of silicone hoses and a tight exhaust bend to complete the boost pipes, hopefully I get them tomorrow. Now where should I put the future oil cooler.....hmmm It's freakin tight!

At last the boost pipes are done and the car started. It actually started and ran better on idle than the standard carb Still need to strengthen the hood lock plate and some stuff, but that's not gonna be any hard. Also the turbo oil inlet leaked a liiiiiittle, so I have to fix that (probably just need to be tightend). farcle YEAH! Downpipe done, looking awesome IT'S ALIVE!!! Probably need some kind of heat plate to avoid melting the intercooler Carb area ATM, gonna get a blow off valve later.
