Nice going... the Van rear window option always throws me off - I don't think we ever landed that in the States. Question: Do those Corbeau seats have you sitting slightly higher or slightly lower compared to the OEM seats (if you remember)? Thx; Good Luck and Skill,

Yeah I really like the window delete. I can only wish my interior will be as clean as yours is one day.

thanks for the kind comments, the seats sit a little higher than oem, although that seems to suit me and the way i sit when i am driving. im about 6ft tall and not hitting my head on the roof so it cant be too bad

I'd like to know how you mounted those seats.

i unbolted the original runners from the justy seats (2 bolts per runner), re drilled the holes in the runner and fastened them to the new seats, i had to use some large diameter washers to space one side of the seat from the rail and some long High-tensile bolts as the bottom of the justy seats are not flat. i then used a 6mm thick, 1 inch wide piece of steel bar, welded to the front and back of the rails and drilled the holes for the bolts which go through into the mounts on the floor
Probably not the tidiest way of doing it but the seats are solid, and still have the slide function. i will take some pictures soon if i remember.

That looks superb, especially with the colour-coded wheels and clear front indicators - and the fact that it's the rarest of all Justys, the van. Nice work.

as promised, the pictures. firstly, my fire extinguisher and co-drivers footrest... its the little touches that count 4 point Securon harnesses New Window stickers, a bargain at ten quid for the pair, i also got the 2 new stickers made for the doors as i am having a few marks tidied u and the doors repainted. a rather cool little electrical modification... Turbo timer!! (well its a delay off relay but it works in much the same way) its amazing you find lying about in work and before anyone says i aint got a turbo! its just summat else to add to the 'confusion factor' about the car! and finaly the rollcage, not finished yet though, need a diagonal between the rear supports, and a front half weldng in. and my dosy ass hanging (or falling) from the top of it!

The projects looking awsome so far. What size and thickness tubing did you use for the cage? and how much did it cost?
One suggestion though, your harnesses are not supposed to be mounted directly to the floor, it makes them incredibly dangerous to the passengers if used in an accident. They are supposed to be mounted at something close to a 75-90 degree angle. It would be simple for you to do that as all you would have to do it weld a bar linking the two rear bars running parallel to each other and run the harness over that before mounting to the ground.
I'll try and find a picture explaining what I just said as it may be confusing to read.
Good work though.

justycr - Yeah thats me! im 19, been messin about with cars for years though, my dads a mechanic so i've always helped/watched him
trev - i see your point and i thought much the same thing until a bloke i work with who used to race in the 750club (fiesta xr2's and xr2i's) gave me his regulations handbook and that states that the harnesses should be mounted at around a 45 degree angle to the back of the seats, he said in both his cars he used the rear seatbelt mounts and he was allowed to race every major track in the UK. Oh, and the tubing is 2 inch O.D. with a 3mm?? wall thickness, ill post a pic of a crss section next time i get chance.
89- the floor is just brush on white hammerite smooth, it probably looks better in the pictures than it does in the flesh, but its still better than the factory job.
Thanks for the comments everyone!!

Creason - Cheers! depending wether this bloke has got back to us on fleabay, trhe turbo might be in the next month!
scoobaru - there is a bloke that used to work out of the same building as where i got my seats from that does signwriting for vans etc. he took a pic with a digital camera, put it on his pc and chopped them abaut a bit and then printed them with a vinyl plotter. not bad for £15 for 2 window stickers fitted and 2 door stickers supplied.
if anyone else wants the 4wd logos making i could possibly get them done at £5 plus the price of and envelope and stamp.
stacks - i have welded a plate to the rear chassis leg under the floor that just re-enforces the area where the rollcage bolts to, and then 2 big bolts through the rollcage, floor and the re-enforcment plate.
i thought that was the standard gen2 steering wheel? can someone post a pic of theirs?

Yup. I'm flying the same wheel as stacks. For am 80s-90s OEM/stock steering wheel it feels darn good, I must say! BTW Fraser, did the van version NOT come with carpet? If it did, how in the good name of Fuji Heavy Industries, did you get the adhesive (see stacks above photo) off!?! 17,500 miles in,
