whoa ;D im just sitting in my subaru justy 1994 4wd 1.2 gl and waiting the ferryboat to come and get me home drove like 400km to get this piece of hard ass metal and i have it... i'm still excited since this is my first own car ever ;D pictures later or maybe even tomorrow since its bad weather over here... the car seems in good shape but needs some good treatment, mostly on outside chassis... we'll see how it's gonna be so far i drove on highway max 125km/h app 4000rpm in 5th gear, didn't have the balls to try push it over honestly, i thought this car had a bit more long gears, cos on the highway it could do more than 125km/h imho... anyway, now i'll need some of your help guys ;D stay cool, drive a justy ;D greetings from croatia

okay now the story... i managed to get some info from police... the car was imported to croatia in 2003, since than there were 2 previous owners, i'm third... it's probably imported from germany cos all the logos and stickers are on german.. the things that don't work.. 1. rear windscreen wiper doesn't work.. any idea what to check first? 2. trunk keylock, it's not working, i have to manually lock it and unlock it from inside, with key i can't turn the keylock any way... 3. left door (driver) keylock its a bit broken, and i think it could fall down if pushed harder... 4. right door electronic glass switch... it goes down flawlessly, but up it takes years... how to open the door plastics so i can get the motor to see in what shape it is? unscrew all the screws i can see? 5. about shocks, are they ok? cos its like they are different.. 6. motor... previous owner said it was spitting oil from the seal, and he put some of that red sealing lube u can see on pictures so now it should be okay... is it or no? 7. need to lube a bit the clutch and the gas pedal cos they are a bit hard... 8. front lights level control (up/down) works only for right front, the left light doesnt work... have to check it too... 9. the biggest problem is the chassis... seems like in the history the car has been hit and the chassis cracked.... i think ill connect the good parts with a hard aluminium stick from one part to another so it doesn't break.. but what with the cracks? are they possible to weld or? that broken parts seems like they have been repainted or maybe passed with a kit... dunno, any suggestion? 10. disc brakes have to be changed... 11. gas tank cap is missing... do you think an universal cap will be good? 12. want to get an roof holder... what should i look for, i mean, are there universal holders on market or just subaru specific ones? 13. it has the rear hanger (grapple, hook), but not subaru original.. its taken from another car... 14. exhaust pipe has been welded by previous owner, we'll see if i'll have troubles with it...
now something else... yesterday the car passed like 400km without a problem... today i went for a offroad drive to see how the 4wd works.. it works great... the only problem was that the check engine message appeared and the motor was like choking, slowing and speeding up by itself... what could that be? the temperature was fine, like the oil level...
well, basically that would be the things i want to wrote u here... tomorrow i'm getting new plates so we'll see... thanks, bye byee

The worst part is the damaged chassis. I can help you with a few items, hopefully everyone else can answer the rest. #1 the rear windscreen wiper: These electric motors do not usually fail. On many hatchbacks including the Volvo estate, it is common for the electric wire that bridges the body to the hatch to break from years of opening and closing the hatch (or sometimes called tailgate) If you have an electrician replace the wire going to the motor, it will probably work again. #7 the sticky clutch and gas pedals: You do not need to lube them. The reason they are sticky is because the cable is breaking. They are self lubricating for life because they are braided steel cable inside of a slippery plastic lined sheath (jacket). When they get old the tiny strands in the steel braids start to break and you get a ball of sharp steel "hair" inside the sheath that makes it very stiff or sticky. The only thing that will cure this is to replace the cable. In the U.S. I got one for about $60 but they are getting rare. Better hurry. #10 brake discs: This is easy to do but you need some inside knowledge. Send me a P.M. (personal message) and I will write up a step by step for you. I am a former professional brake mechanic. Jesus H. Good luck.

Good luck. well if so next summer season ill work for a FIAT ;D just got my plates and btw done 100km more without a problem... i hope ill get some spare time this week to weld that chassis thing in front... and check the rear wiper... i can do a bit of electrics so i'll check it.. also, im going to search for that gas cable so i can replace it... have to check if in italy near me (trieste and so on) exist some subaruus on the car depot... i've changed few times brake pads but on an older car, don't know if the method is same... anyway ill send u pm... onsk8don't know what you mean... i think they should be stock mechanical... anyway found out that if the car runs the right window goes up faster than with car off... have to open that door to see what's inside... what about the shocks? they don't seem fine right..?

1. checked and seems it's not broken at the hatch bridge... the fuse isn't broken... dunno, i'll let an electrician check it out asap... 2. repaired... almost ;D opened it and plugged it out, seems that keylock is rusted/blocked or something broken inside the keylock itself.. i've put some lubricant/anti corrosion overnight so i'll see if tomorrow will switch normally, if no, have to find one new... btw, any idea where i could find one? except getting it from an older Justy 5. shocks are fine, on one only the protective plastic on outsideis broken so i have to watch out where i drive, cos if water enters the the seal will leak soon... anyway, they are going to be replaced soon... 8. seems the car had a front hit... cos only the right light has the up/down control level, the left one seems it's not original, it has been replaced with an non-original one... other things going to be checked when i find some more time... edit: few more things i forgot to ask... what is the standard backup tire size in trunk? currently it's 155/70 R13... also, i have currently on the car 165/70 R13 winter tires, is that fine or? seems the catalisator is in bad condition and i'll have to replace it.. how much does it cost around there app? thanks

hi there a bit of update of my justy a lot of time has passed since my last update here... anyway, you may know i am located in croatia, europe, and finding parts here is a bit difficult... well i thought so but seems it's not so hard... found few dealers over here and they aren't so cheap but they have all the stuff i need... well the first thing i needed to replace were the front kinetic joints on both wheels (i think its said CV joints but im not sure for that term)... so i found a mechanic that could manage the justy and gave him that to do, he changed both of them, and few other bolts that had to be repaired in total of around 320$ probably he took 100$ for the work... so far that's good... next thing that will be changed is the brake system+ the oil leaking on the motor (probably a broken seal).. that stuff will do a friend of mine.. why i am writing this.. well as much i saw here you guys over in usa are having hard time to find shocks for the justy... well this dealer over here has them, from Kayaba or Sachs ekataloghr.intercars.com.pl/index.php?lang_id=%27HR%27 (just choose english in upper right corner) so it may be of help for someone... also, i got a carbed justy sii 4wd, think its 1992 make, which i'll probably tear apart for interior stuff... i'm not at home so i can't post pictures but if i decide for sure to tear it apart for parts i can send someone something if needed... well, that's all.. this justy is great... been climbing with it from mountain to mountain, mud, water, all conditions and its awesome im in <3 with it.. can't wait for the snow to fall down so i can try it than too thx for any help i got from this forum, i'll keep up here.. bye
