Hi guys, I was thinking about some things (like I usually do) and I find that the same fuel consumption gives more output on a Injection engine than a carbed one. So I was thinking how hard can it be to convert my 1.0 carb engine to a singlepoint or multipoint injection. At the 1.2 EFI engines, are the injectors mounted on the manifold i suppose? So that means that you can switch manifolds from a EFI engine to the carb cilinderhead? And if there are cam/crankshaft postion sensors, will they fit on the EF10 engine or are the timingbelt pulleys different on the EFI engines? I know it's a bit of a lot fantasy, but theoraticly speaking it could work, but then there's the electronical issue of making the ECU fit on the stock carb electrical circuit So if some of you experts here got some good info, I would love to hear them

No, a boxer will not fit in a Justy.

There are some problems with making your carb engine EFI. Let's take a look at the carb cylinder head: Now let's take a look at the EFI cylinder head: In the first picture, you'll see 6 holes that I have highlighted BLUE. Those are the water passages and the carb manifold has the same holes to match. In the next picture you see just one big blue hole on the left. That's the only water passage on the EFI head. You cannot put an EFI manifold onto a carb head. You would have to swap the whole top-end, head+manifold+plenum+throttlebody+fuel rail+injectors etc. You are correct however that the injectors plug directly into the manifold. I think you'll find that the wiring will be very difficult and expensive. Rather than keep it stock, I would suggest running the injection with an alternative engine management system. Write to Dusty Bennett and ask him how he got his to work, because he did it using megasquirt! www.dustysjustys.com/

Required:
Head ECU Harness Full intake Box-to-head +sensors Possibly different throttle cable SENSORS (coolant etc) Fuel system (Pump and lines possibly?)
Etc
